Supporting Wound Care in Diabetes with the Right Nutrition Talk
Dr Sarabdeep Singh, a physician,who has a Masters in Public Health and Addiction, gave a talk on 1.12.2024. His main topic was on ‘Supporting Wound Care in Diabetes with the Right Nutrition’. Dr Sarabdeep gave very useful tips on how to take care of our feet especially for those who are diabetic.
Another speaker, Phua Yee Chan, who is a pharmacist, and a health consultant in Diabetic care, shared very valuable tips on right nutrition for a healthy body. Health checks and consultations by healthcare professionals were carried out for all attendees. Ten Sikhmai members attended this event.
There was high tea after the talk, with delicious sandwiches and kuih served. Overall it was a very fruitful evening, as everyone benefitted from this medical talk. A big thank you to Dr Sarabdeep for organizing and inviting Sikhmai to this event.
French Pastry Course
French pastry course was held on 9/9/2024 – 13/9/2024 (5days) from 8.30am until 5pm.The program conducted by Fantastic Pastry Academy in IGB Park,Tasek in collaboration with pasa conducted under PASAK.

PROGRAM: TERAPI URUTAN KENDIRI DALAM MENANGANI STRESS

Venue : Dewan Kenanga, Bangunan Persekutuan Greentown, Ipoh
The above program was attended by Jesbeer Kaur Gurbaksh Singh and Dharmi Kaur Amar Singh.
It was organised by Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita . Its main aim was to teach and guide us how to manage stress in our daily lives.
Apart from a motivational talk, there was also a “Laughter Therapy”, “Healing Therapy” and also card making activity by participants.
Gathering at Perak State Women's Development Office
On April 30, 2024 which was a Tuesday, there was a gathering the Perak State Women’s Development Office which took place at UTC in Ipoh. 3 of our members attended this program. They were Phenji Kuldeep, Phenji Daljit and Penji Balbee Kaur.
This program was officiated by YB. Puan Salbiah Binti Mohamed, Chairperson of the Women’s Development Committee, Family, Community Welfare, Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives of the State of Perak. Also present to enliven the event were Women Members of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN), including YB Dr. Najihatussalehah Binti Ahmad (ADUN Bota), YB Puan Salina Binti Samsudin (ADUN Behrang), and YB Puan Wasanthee a/p Sinnasamy (ADUN Hutan Melintang), as well as Directors and representatives from Government Agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and members of the public.
The main purpose of this program was to strengthen the bond of sisterhood and foster relationships between the department and government agencies, NGOs, and the public. At the same time, it aimed to raise awareness among the community about the services provided by the department, especially regarding income-generating skill courses and awareness programs.
There was also a feast provided by the women entrepreneurs under Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita for those in attendance. It was an enjoyable gathering and many new friendships were made with other NGOs.

The above program was attended by Ranjit Kaur Mukhtiar Singh and Parmjit Kaur Rattan Singh.
The program was organised by Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga , Kebajikan Masyarakat Pembangunan Usahawan Dan Koperasi .
The speaker mainly talked about how to declutter one’s mind, self love and the benefits of self love, the importance of forgive and forget, living in the moment, positive thinking, accept and move on , being grateful .
The speaker also conducted a practical session on Positive Self Theraphy such as Butterfly Hug,Creative Trauma Cleansing(CTC), Grateful Journal,What’s Within My Control, Art Theraphy.

PROGRAM DADAH DAN KELDAI DADAH : Wanita Jangan Jadi Mangsa
On 29th of February, the above program was attended by Kuldip Kaur Rattan Singh and Parmjit Kaur Rattan Singh.
The program was organised by Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga, Kebajikan Masyarakat Pembangunan Usahawan Dan Koperasi in conjunction with Women’s Day.
Attending Sukhmani Sahib Program at Ulu Yam Senior Citizens Retreat Centre
On Saturday, 9 March 2024, a few SikhMai members namely Phenji Amarjid, Phenji Ninderjeet and Phenji Simran went to Gurdwara Sahib Ulu Yam to attend a Sukhmani Sahib program and to meet up with the Ulu Yam Senior Citizens Retreat Centre’s committee members. The path was held by an elderly member of SikhMai, Mata Latchman Kaur who is currently a resident of the Ulu Yam Senior Citizens Retreat Centre, to celebrate her 82nd birthday. Mata Latchman Kaur, decided there was no better way to celebrate her birthday other than in the presence of our Waheguru.
PERAK STATE LEVEL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION IN PERAK
7th March 2024, two members of SikhMai, Harjit Kaur and Balbir Kaur attended the launch of the 2024 Perak State Level Women’s Day Celebration organized by the Perak State Women and Community Development Secretariat. It was officiated by YB Dato’ Salbiah Mohamed, Chairman of the Women, Family, Community Welfare, Entrepreneurial Development, and Cooperative Committee of the State of Perak.
